Hi, I'm Jordan

My passion for creative design began in high school, where I discovered the power of visual storytelling through Photoshop-centered courses. After graduation, I enrolled in community college initially focusing on I.T., but soon realized my true calling lay at the intersection of technology and design.

I pivoted to an Associate of Arts degree, immersing myself in graphic design, programming, and art history alongside my general education courses. The more I studied graphic design, the more I explored it independently outside the classroom. After graduating in 2017, life took an unexpected turn that would forever change my perspective.

Two days before my graduation ceremony, I underwent emergency nasal surgery for acute invasive sinusitis. Later that year, I suffered a stroke in my sleep. After six weeks of hospital transfers and treatment, I was left with generalized weakness on the left side of my body but recovered relatively quickly. In early 2018, while at work, I suffered a second, more catastrophic stroke that resulted in complete paralysis on my right side.

The next six weeks were spent being transferred between hospitals for treatment, followed by time in an inpatient rehab facility to relearn basic functions, and later an outpatient facility. Through unwavering dedication to physical fitness and rehabilitation, I slowly regained function. I transformed from a 140lb man just released from rehab to a 225lb man committed to strength training. While I still experience generalized weakness, I've recovered tremendously from where I was.

This experience taught me resilience, patience, and the value of incremental progress; lessons that directly translate to my approach in development and design. I took a two-year break to focus on my recovery and skill development before returning to Florida State College at Jacksonville in 2019 to pursue a certificate in graphic design.

As I neared completion of my graphic design certificate, I discovered the broader world of Digital Media and enrolled in FSCJ's program to expand my creative toolkit. This led to an AS in Digital Media, which opened doors to web design and development. Eager to deepen my technical skills, I spent a year at the University of Central Florida studying web design and interactive media.

In 2023, I transferred to the University of North Florida to complete my bachelor's degree through their interdisciplinary program, earning an SEO and AI certificate along the way. This unique path allowed me to combine digital media, computer science, and social media Management, creating a comprehensive skill set that equips me to handle projects from initial concept through final deployment. My diverse educational background gives me a rare perspective: I understand both the creative vision and the technical execution needed to bring ideas to life.
